Superbly directed by Kristin Towers-Rowles, tying all four pieces together so well and casting the shows so brilliantly, with all the actors giving terrific performances. Standouts were Michael Mullen, playing women as only he knows how to, Michael Marchak and Shayna Gabrielle as Tink and Peter (ya gotta see it, plus props to Shayna for some brilliant deadpan delivery that kept everyone laughing), and Jen Talton, drawing attention as the foil for the absurd position she’s been unwittingly put in. One of the great joys of the Fringe are the shows you might never see during the regular theater season. Where most companies might mount a production of one of his full length plays, Mmmkay Productions and Crown City Theatre choose to shine a warm light on this collection of Christopher Durang's shorter works. A deep cast, crisply directed by Kristin Towers-Rowles, snaps Durang's anxious comic characters fully into their chaotic lives. Michael Mullen deftly centers the titular characters in "For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls" with hilariously archaic grace, and in "Wanda's Visit" with entertaining obliviousness. James Everts is a hoot as the lead in "The Actor's Nightmare" trying to learn to swim as he's thrown repeatedly into the deep ... full review

Wonderfully absurd & funny Durang where everything is a lovingly topsy-turvy homage to the madness & joy of theater. The final act is every actor’s hilarious worst nightmare performed with great energy & pace by all involved. Thoroughly enjoyable!... full review

Durang's characters as so off the wall and larger than life, the direction of these plays has to match the craziness of the stories with a cast that can handle the absurdity of it all. And Kristin Towers-Rowles understands that and keeps the action as hectic as the thoughts going through the characters' minds while the actors enjoy chewing the scenery! This is especially true during "The Actor's Nightmare" when an understudy for Edwin Booth is called upon to take on his role at the last minute without any rehearsal - and he has no idea what play is being done nor his lines nor the blocking. This play embraced the absurdity of Durang with open arms. The subtle disquieting energy of the script finds its voice in moments of chaotic silliness. Moments of reality sneak through on the backs of the performers talent, while the untrained eye might only see camp. Over all, a perfect choice for the world we find ourselves in, with no real idea of what may come next. ... full review
