I enjoyed the opening of the show. Kirsten took the audience on a journey of her experience voting for what she thought was going to be the first woman President. She had from the start. I completely relived my similar experience of that day, tears and all! Such a strong performance!
What I didn't like
Kirsten is such a strong performer and educator. What a combination! I would have preferred to experience the stories of Columbia, etc. rather than hear about them through lecture style. All of the information Kirsten shared is so pivotal to our understanding of America, whiteness, colorism, privilege, etc. This show could be transformational for so many if we were allowed to experience your vulnerability and pitfalls of coming to understand this critical body of knowledge.
My overall impression
This was a great study of history and how it shaped America. This information is so wanted and needed right now.
