The physical work of both actors is excellent. They are able to create a strong relationship through the modality of Zoom. We can see that all of the artists involved are quite close to the themes.
What I didn't like
Of course, it would be wonderful to see this unfold live. As far as the current modality and how it is being used, I do not have a lot of criticism.
My overall impression
Ikigai is a beautiful story of love, loss, and finding your way in life that rings especially true right now. The hybrid approach, combining pre-recorded video with live camera work feels fresh, and is a respite from some of the less innovative Zoom theatre we have come to expect.
