Tatum doesn’t portray herself as an infallible protagonist. She instead leads the audience through an incredible story arc of pain, reaction, and eventually redemption in a moving way. She tells her story of growth which was very relatable and caused introspection.
What I didn't like
I can’t think of anything other than there may have been parts where Mormon jargon could be avoided altogether instead of warranting an explicit definition i.e. ward = congregation so that wider audiences won’t get lost. I do think the Bishop character was well-done though, so Idk if it would improve or detract.
My overall impression
Incredible performance, brought me to laughter and tears.
