I liked how it was written, with different characters explaining Tatum’s inner dialogue & dilemma. I loved how it was written in a way that shows flaws in the church culture but gives it grace & a change to progress. Tatum’s performance was incredible, switching from crying to happy in a second. I also loved to use of the projector behind Tatum that helped set the scene for parts of the performance.
What I didn't like
I can’t think of anything!! Being a member of the church, I understood all of the funny references & I hope that those that aren’t mormon understood them because they were so good!!
My overall impression
I absolutely loved the show. I was sucked in from the moment it began. I felt like I was watching different people as Tatum portrayed the different parts in the story. It was a real story that was written in such a smart way. It was funny, it was heartbreaking. It was wonderful.
