I can FEEL the sincerity in Tatums’s voice and presence and it felt as though I was WITHHER on the journey for the entirety of the show. Once again, her STORYTELLING capabilities are on POINT. It was so captivating. The feelings and layers that come with these life experiences are depicted in such a simple, yet rich way.
I loved learning about the Mormon religion in the super fun and easily digestible way she does so. While the narrator herself (Tatum) is telling her own story, I love how she depicts the other characters in such a seemingly fair, compassionate, albeit honest way.
I love that “REDEEMher” straddles the absurd notions of “right” and “wrong” and illuminates the GREY world that actually serves us most accurately.
What I didn't like
To be honest, nothing comes to mind!
My overall impression
I LOVETHISSHOW SO DAMNMUCH.
Tatum is naturally a captivating storyteller, but the way she incorporates all of the OTHER characters into this story feels SO real. This solo show is deep, bold and poignant, but she delivers it with strong comedic undertones that perfectly compliment the depth and rawness of the content.
