The interaction with the audience without actually requiring audience participation was great, and since there were no other actors to tell me if Thom was imagining those interactions or if they were meant to be real, I couldn’t decide if the character was an actor performing to a real audience I couldn’t see or a deranged person talking to himself. The integration with an unseen internet audience was similarly well done.
What I didn't like
Some timimg felt rushed.
My overall impression
Brilliantly acted, disturbingly written, and hauntingly relatable, Thom Pain is a memorable experience. I really liked Thom and several times wanted to run up and give him a hug, but in the end I was just grateful not to be living a tortured existence, unhinged by my own mind.
