Thom Pain: Based on Nothing is nothing less than a portrait of an entire human mind. Through memories, musings, and somtimes-caustic interactions with the audience, our protagonist comes to terms with all the pain and joy of his(our) existence. While outwardly being a simple tale of a boy and his dog (and his bees, and the love of his life), it also manages to be a perfect encapsulation of the inner experience of surviving the past year.
