What I liked

I enjoyed the use of Lion, Hyena, and Baboon as tracking devices through Kevin’s journey of self-discovery. Using animals felt like reclaiming the derogatory slag of referring to Blacks and African-Americans as monkeys by someone who identifies as Black.

What I didn't like

I can’t think of anything that could be improved.

My overall impression

Versatile is a raw, visual piece that gets to the heart of someone trying to figure out who they are. On stage, Versatile ends in ninety minutes. The story of Versatile has not ended yet: at the beginning of the show, Kevin states how his journey of self-discovery does not end in enlightenment (or something to this degree), leaving me to wonder if Kevin is still figuring himself out.

A very well-written and performed piece.
