What I liked
The Great Gatsby number was impressive. So, too, the number showing how Covid has ripped people apart was artfully and smartly handled. The molambo number with Giovanna Dan showcased this gorgeous woman’s enormous talent.
What I didn't like
Although delightful, the comedic numbers were too long. We got the point of them right away. Briefer would have been better and funnier.
My overall impression
Argentine Tango is usually thought of as a serious dance so the fact that Once Upon a Tango includes many comic moments was a great way to break the stereotype. The energy of the dancers was dazzling as was the creative way the small space was used.
