My overall impression

An engaging ode to sci-fi nerd-dom? Yes. An homage to the pop media that floated past the eyes of teenage Gen-X/Gen-Y cusp boys? Absolutely. But, like any solo performance that’s truly worth its salt, “Life” transcends its niche humor and speaks to the wants that we all have… to fix what once was. To undo regrets.

The show is both hilarious and bittersweet, and McGowan’s presentation is so natural and un-forced that he transitions from comedy to drama with ease. Even if his time machine is just a figment of his imagination, we are certainly along for the ride.
