What I liked
Juan Villa is a whirlwind powerhouse performer. His story is so haunting and personal and unmistakably authentic. This one will stay with me for a long time.
What I didn't like
I just can’t wait for it to be adapted into a full length, full cast play or a feature film. It deserves to be broadcast far and wide.
My overall impression
Empanada shook me to the core. What a phenomenal story about lineage and the sins of one’s family and the burden of generational curses. From beginning to end, this one-man show showed us SO MANY men and women that deserve to have their story told.
