My Womb was a very moving play. The actress, Meredith Barko, was very likable and entertaining. She took me from laughter to tears during the show. We cried with her; we rooted for her. The play spoke about the disconnect between the medical community and the patients that they are there to serve. It dealt with the womb and childbirth but the concept could be played out with any medical issue. The catch phase from the play "words matter" is so appropriate for doctor/patient relationships. A little empathy from the medical community, please.... full review

Captivating show follows a woman's race to save her own life while giving birth, is about hospital settings that lack empathy, and I learned much more medical language than expected to at the theater! ... full review

This One-Actor piece touches on a very real and often terrifying state of healthcare in the United States when it comes to childbirth. Storyteller Olivia May, and Writer/Director Jessica Lauren Richmond have done an excellent job with an uncomfortable subject here--so much so that it was over before I knew it; I wanted more.
