Powerhouse presentation by the solo performer – a wide range of emotions portrayed in 30 minutes with multiple character voices and raw emotion made the experience feel very intimate.
The “Town Hall” part – was cool to ease from performance to conversation about the play’s themes with others in the audience… lots to discuss regarding cracks in the American healthcare system…
The primarily-bold-red visual design made it feel like a museum installation, and different locations were created with the use of stage pictures and sound effects.
What I didn't like
Would be curious to hear more about the experience of the person who the play was based on.
My overall impression
Captivating show follows a woman’s race to save her own life while giving birth, is about hospital settings that lack empathy, and I learned much more medical language than expected to at the theater!
