The show features characters who are relatable and more than one-dimensional. Each act forces the audience to consider things from multiple points of view even if we gravitate toward one over the other.
What I didn't like
The second segment is stylistically very different from the rest and could use a blatant cue early on to get the audience on board with the shtick, especially if they didn’t look at the program beforehand.
My overall impression
Chris Valenti always writes with vulnerability and poignancy. Five Short Drives touches upon a number of issues and perspectives that permeate today’s society with honesty and moments of humor.
