The most important thing for me was Barbara’s blunt, yet touching performance. But I should also say that an intimate setting such as the Kansas room was a perfect spot to come back to the theatre after so long!
What I didn't like
If there’s one element to be improved I would say the positioning of the chairs for the audience could be arranged in a way that allows even the people in the back see without problems.
My overall impression
Barbara is a powerhouse, and her performance is well balanced between moments of high energy and quiet, intimate reflections that engaged with every line and every delivery.
This play shakes your soul and leaves you asking yourself questions about what it means to pursue the “American Dream” and thinking about the real weight and value of our culture in this fast-changing world.
