What hit me most strongly this time was the fact that this show could easily begin with a vibrantly healthy young woman getting an awful medical diagnosis. And it would have worked just fine. But instead, we’re taken through her entire life before, with every embarrassing, humiliating, or worse, experience detailed, so that when the awful news comes, we feel all the layers of meaning it had for her. And yet with all that, I need to reiterate that this show keeps its sense of humor throughout, and is never less than entertaining.

My overall impression
This was my third time watching this astounding, heart-wrenching, funny, and very very wise show. I have nothing but awe for Holly’s talent and courage in telling such a vulnerable story so openly, and full respect for her and all her co-creators for making it such a vibrant piece of theater. Can’t recommend it strongly enough.
