What I liked
This show is in my top 3 of this Fringe (solo or ensemble). The show we well-paced, well written, well performed/acted. I enjoyed how the multiple characters were utilized (performed by her) simple voice and body shifts, changed so much. Vivia was charming. I enjoyed the use of the stage and projector.
Bellyful was real, honest, fun and touching. There was a moment where the show hit some truly deep emotions and I was right there with Vivia. Loved the show so glad I saw it!
What I didn't like
Honestly, no real notes. I am sure there is always something to work on but the show is solid. I was with Vivia from start to finish.
My overall impression
One of my favorite shows I have seen this Fringe! I enjoyed every moment of Vivia in her solo show Bellyfull! Vivia is charming, funny and has such a powerful stage presence. I was captivated by her and her story. Very real and honest. I enjoyed the peaks and valleys she took me on.
People often write off folks who are in larger bodies or folks that they perceive different from them and what a silly thing to do. We’ve lived different lives, her and I, but I saw myself in Vivia and related to her.
A storyteller is someone who captivate, entertain, and educate. Through storytelling they create connection and humanity. Viva is a storyteller.
Vivia is a gem who deserves to shine and she did. Bravo!
