About the Project
After losing her job and with the unemployment rate at 12%, the only job Luella could find was teaching on an Indian reservation in Montana. So she packed up the U-Haul and her friend, Dolores, gave her a ride up to the res – negative zero degree temperatures, no car, no internet, no Starbucks. It was the best thing that could have happened to her!
“Bloom Where You Are Planted” follows the hero’s journey of leaving the familiar and venturing into an unknown territory, facing obstacles and challenges, finding purpose, and bringing new knowledge back home. This one-woman show dramatizes the journey with laughter and tears along the way. Pictures, videos, and music from the reservation all come together to make the show funny and entertaining.
