Samson & the Burning Bush

What I liked

This show has everything you could want in a musical, the costumes are well designed and are very playful with an occasional fun, frisky use of color and the musical numbers are so well staged and choreographed. Everybody on stage looked like they were having so much fun and the entire ensemble seemed perfectly in sync with one another.

What I didn't like

I would recommend cutting some of the dialogue or cutting some of the musical numbers. Not to the fault of any of the actors or singers on stage, they were all absolutely wonderful, but when you’re telling a story, you don’t need to explain everything going on in the story twice, with both dialogue and a song. Picking and choosing the moments where to only have dialogue or to only have a song to help move the story forward, would really be beneficial to the pacing of this material, that way the material doesn’t move as slowly.

My overall impression

Usually I get weary of seeing content based off of stories in the bible, I was raised religious so I’ve had my fill of biblical content. But this was totally worth seeing! This was campy and really fun to watch.
