About the Project
An original solo show, SUSPENDED takes place in an acting class where a girl’s acting teacher questions her cynical outlook and her dedication to her craft. In order to determine what is holding her back from connecting to her characters, the girl is forced to take a closer look at her past and the relationships that have shaped her over the course of her life. From childhood babysitters, to high school boyfriends, to a Hootie and the Blowfish riff on the guitar, she examines the ways in which her identity is, and is not, built upon her memories and experiences. Ultimately, overcoming her emotional obstacles leads her to freedom within her acting and beyond.
