Pina, an 80 year old woman from Slovenia, has just arrived home from the hospital. She has received a postcard from her fromer lover, who died on the same day as her late husband. The horrifying postcard triggers her granddaughter Masha’s curiosity and together they revisit memories of Pina’s fascinating life; her firends and romances, her marriage, the course of Yugoslavia and the communism period, her children, a disease that runs in the family, and all the conflicts and make-ups her family had gone through. “Death is funny”, she says, “And what’s even funnier is how I outlived them all.”
