What I liked

Amanda’s impression skills are impressive. Especially as she impersonates men that she’s dated, therapists she’s hired, various types of life coaches, and people at seminars she’s attended. She does great impressions of television shows she’s watched about dating and romance. The blocking on this show is amazing considering the size and shape of the space. The sparse but effective use of light and set is effective as well.

What I didn't like

Amanda has a good singing voice but the endless use of song choruses interspersed with the dialogue as bumpers felt more like a nervous tick that she fell back on. The room echoes easily and she is singing way too loud for that space. Every time she burst into song it felt grating and put too much emphasis on something that distracted from her story. The use of popular songs with their own well-known origins I felt was a poor choice, and the parodies of some songs while eliciting a good response from the audience felt inappropriate in combination with her other material.

My overall impression

Amanda discusses the history of her desire to feel loved by a man combined with her inability to be truly intimate with a man.
