What I liked

Outside of the very poetic writing & metaphors (Dance, Someone sneaking in my house, bloody flag, testing, the man cave etc) it felt like there wasn’t even a script. The actors invited me into a realm where they got naked (one seen literally) and then allowed me to do the same. I was going through this with them. I laughed with them, cried with them, I was Trayvon Martin & Tamir Rice wandering why you exterminated me, I cried with them (Shoutout to the prison scene that had me balling in tears), I boxed with them & I sure as hell was angry with them.

What I didn't like

Since majority of the show requires audience interaction its important to have the right crowd. Would encourage them to push harder in the marketing department & try other ways to paint the show. I am already sending this page to many other bloggers, casting directors etc but the advertisements do not give justice to what the show entails.

My overall impression

Wow!!!! As a lover of theater for many years I must say that I was incredibly impressed with this show. Before becoming a theater & film blogger, I directed shows for several years in New York. After directing “For Colored Girls”, I have always wondered when someone would tell the story of the black man. The way this play did Exceeded my expectations.
