Leilani Squire writes out nuggets of truth, little by little, until you realize that you are really sympathizing with characters who do not normally garner sympathy. Both the direction and acting breathe life into these flawed and sympathetic characters. Definitely get me conflicting feels, which is something I enjoy in my Fringe shows.
What I didn't like
This would be a totally different play, but I would have liked to see these two men have a conversation with each other, perhaps in the same support group?
My overall impression
I was so glad that I saw this. A wonderfully written piece beautifully told by both actors. Blaine Vedros blew me away with his portrayal of this seeming-jerk. His performance had such honest vulnerability that I couldn’t help but feel for him, even though he did a TERRIBLE thing.
