Candida Rodriguez, a talent who deserves to be front-and-center in a show of her own, at Fringe or anywhere else!
What I didn't like
With more rehearsal, a smoother performance and production. Reading the script rather than performing it doesn’t undermine its impact but it’s not an asset either.
My overall impression
Everyone has a story to tell, and plenty of them end up as Fringe solo shows. Dianne Pennington has had an interesting journey and plays herself well, abetted by Gil Karson’s guitar, but she’s overshadowed on stage by her friend Candida Rodriguez, who inadvertently steals her show by expertly playing a variety of characters, female and male, in Dianne’s life to date! A sad start leads to a life-affirming conclusion, and that’s a story worth telling!
