Makha’s performance is precise and compelling—it transports you effortlessly into the world of a school facing desegregation at the dawning of the end of Apartheid.
What I didn't like
I would love to see this developed into a longer piece, and I don’t doubt Makha’s ability to play multiple characters in the classroom.
My overall impression
“No Child Left Behind” is a forceful twenty-minutes of terror, humor, and history. Makha does an incredible job of boiling down the entirety of one schoolteacher’s identity and prejudices into a single moment in her life.
