The film geek in me couldn’t help but compare this to the dogme 95 film movement- where there was only diegetic sound, no superficial action, and a focus on the performers not the director. It was incredibly impressive the way the actors entered and exited the stage as if it were one long extended shot like in a film.
There is beauty in the simplicity of this piece- it felt common, in the best sense of the word- that everything that happened was believable and relatable.
What I didn't like
The launch- the play needs to get off to smoother start, it needs to have a clearer, more defined opening.
My overall impression
Post-college life feels like a struggle to do what you think adults do, and simultaneously a yearning for the past. This show perfectly captures that uncertainty with charm, warmth, and phenomenal chemistry between actors who love and trust one another.
