The ensemble cast delivers strong performances across the board.
‘Big Ones’ is a perfectly crafted splash of claustrophobia in a bottle. Good use of ambient sounds.
The delightfully cheeky musical segment ‘Rand!’ wouldn’t feel out of place in an episode of “Bob’s Burgers” or “Home Movies”. Great costumes!
What I didn't like
‘Deadpan’ is lots of fun to watch at face value (there’s something very Frasier-esque about its descent into farce) but perhaps intended as more of a deconstruction/send-up of contrived sitcom conventions that didn’t quite land for me.
‘The Smell of Something to Eat’ has a simple but visually inventive premise that runs just a bit long.
My overall impression
An engaging assortment of vignettes, odds and ends.
