What I liked

Lucas Alifano is delightful and amazing as James, the creator of our universe. His awkward sincerity is hilarious because it seems the guy who made us is a pencil pushing failure in his own dimension, which makes perfect sense when you think about it. Victor Isaac shines as well, delivering a hilarious performance as Hunter, a local turned religious leader, and after seeing Isaac in last year’s The Word, I can watch him give a sermon all day every day for the rest of time, In James We Trust!

Jeff Scott Carey delivers a tight and smart script, deliciously poking and prodding at what has led us to this moment in our social discussion, and giving us the answer the the question we’ve always asked – we were made by people just like us, and isn’t that beautiful and terrifying?

What I didn't like

I felt as if the social commentary could have been deeper, and we could have gone into Clint’s ideals more. Using him as a bridge between Lydia and Jeanna could have been cool. Also, more of the high council. What are their lives like?

My overall impression

A cute, awkward, and provoking look at the political and social climate of today as seen by the very people who created it. How much of our world was planned, and how much of it was our doing? And if we’ve done this to ourselves, are we really worth saving?
