What I liked

I loved the fluidity with which Amrita and Gemma flowed from comedy to tragedy and back again. They are deft performers, and continued to surprise the audience. I’m quite certain that if I went a second time, my experience would be different. I loved the audience participation, and how they implicated us as integral participants in the show.

Loved how patiently they played, and how unafraid they are of stillness.

The martini scene might have been my favorite, though I could watch Gemma’s physical comedy trying to avoid the kiss she is asking for for a solid hour straight.

What I didn't like

I have no doubt the show will continue to evolve as these artists continue to play, and I cannot wait to see the evolution. I trust their vision implicitly, and will see any show they devise.

I might have liked to hear more of Gemma’s story of loss. I was so moved by Amrita’s and wanted to hear Gemma’s as well. Time was likely a factor in this, so lets give them a larger venue with more time, please!

My overall impression

I would watch any show devised by Amrita and Gemma. Intelligent, compassionate, HILARIOUS, boundary-pushing and full of surprises, this show will leave your cheeks sore from laughing and your tender heart opened wide. They’ve used the power of comedy and clown to do what it does in it’s purest form: reminded us how connected we all are in the universal human experience of life (and death) and love. That we are more alike than different. And this is truly how comedy can change the world. It’s powerful, it’s palpable, and we are in great hands with Amrita and Gemma, who challenge us throughout the show, without ever making us feel unsafe (except in a fun way).
