What I liked
I loved the roller coaster of emotions this piece took me through. I laughed out loud at points and then found myself thinking “I’m laughing at something very serious…woah” then would think again “….but that is genius that they purposely made me laugh at something serious.” Not because the content was funny, but because the story and the actors did a marvelous transmitting a message through a delivery method we are not used to. Covering a current topic going on in our every days lives (especially since I am a Mexican American) in a method that is not being yelled at you by the news or media, but a method of visual performance and art was a beautiful experience to have. Basically Bravo to the entire team behind such a great show.
What I didn't like
Truly would not change a single thing. Loved the writing, directing, and acting. Loved how it was a 30 minute escape from the world to see something deep conveyed in a light hearted manner. Loved it all.
My overall impression
My overall impression of No Joke was truly amazing. It has been a while since I was able to sit and enjoy any sort of performance piece that REALLY got me thinking.
