An accessible show is hard to come by these days, so often we are asked to be in the mind of the writer and rarely given the tools to understand unless we are theatre veterans. Trash, however, felt like something that everyone could learn from. That is rare.
What I didn't like
As a debut for the writer/director, Trash could naturally use some polishing, but overall the show came across as a major success.
My overall impression
Trash is an daringly frank view of what it is to be a woman in today’s society. From stories we’ve all heard to ones we wouldn’t imagine, Trash depicts womanhood in a genuine, heartfelt manner. The writer/director manages to touch on something we all feel and has produced a show that is accessible and feels conversational in a time when theatre rarely feels so.
