What I liked
It all starts and ends with the work of Oliver and Beza. Two leads doing the work that two leads do. I also particularly enjoyed the sound design and motif of the waves crashing outside their hotel room. It helped the audience feel like we were on this getaway with them.
What I didn't like
I would have loved to follow these characters out into the world and meet the other forces in their lives, but that goes beyond the scope and framework of what I assume the piece was designed to be.
My overall impression
An intimate piece propelled by strong work from Katie Oliver and Dingani Beza. For those who missed it – they have an encore performance on 7/14.
