I thought the acting of the entire company was fantastic – every word was justified, every movement supported and clear. One moment especially sticks in my memory: the two attorneys are talking heatedly about the case and there is a pause — they shift and have a brief exchange about a baby shower they’re both attending. The shift was so subtle, but natural and I had no issue believing these women were extremely passionate about their jobs, and also able to be friends outside of work, or at least in the same social circle. I also enjoyed seeing incredibly strong, opinionated, capable female characters on stage, and pregnant, no less.
What I didn't like
Though I found the movement/dance pieces of the play to be very beautifully choreographed, I felt that the transitions between “acting” scenes and “dance” scenes were not quite seamless enough, they felt a little clunky.
My overall impression
I loved this show. It was haunting and strange, confronting and interesting. The performances were excellent — nuanced, yet emphatic. Go see it!
