Ostrich Farm brings together a motley crew of childhood friends who’ve somehow remained close for 20 years:

ABBY (29): earthy-crunchy lovably idiosyncratic space cadet, who never met a crystal she didn’t recharge and whose weight and career path vary by the month.

MARGORIE (29): put together perfect attempting “casual”, forever formulating some sort of spreadsheet of tasks in her head and glossing over her husband’s (Tom) alcohol problem.

LYLE (29): a clean-cut hipster gay with a Napoleon complex and biting wit to match, deems himself an essential part of Margorie and Tom’s marriage, struggles with the state of his career.

WILL (29) “nicest guy you’ll meet", seemingly has it all: career, girlfriend, lifestyle, and an unwavering optimism; a “positivity”, we learn, is probably a clinical compulsion to ignore glaring problems in order make the present more palpable.

And their spouses…

BARB (28, Will’s Girlfriend), gorgeous, dripping with charisma and energy, the type that doesn’t “believe” in awkwardness and could easy fall back on a career as a Bar Mitzvah party starter… but carries an unfortunate secret.

TOM (33, Margorie’s Husband) who was definitely on the high school football team but was also definitely getting high beneath the bleachers. His “migraines” (hangover) keep him from joining in on the night’s festivities – a recurring problem.

OSTRICH FARM takes place in real-time, on a night pitched to Will as a snowy cabin getaway in Idyllwild, that’s actually the group’s attempt to confront Will on some unsavory facts they’ve learned about Barb.

When Will shows up WITH Barb, things go haywire as the group attempts to still go through their friend-tervention in front of Barb, unleashing an evening of untold awkwardness and game-changing dynamics. Decades-long resentments, dark habits and unfortunate truths are revealed as the group rankles with questions of codependence, honesty, and denial.
