What I liked

I actually answered this in the above section.

What I didn't like

I kind of touched on this in the above section, oops.

My overall impression

The production was enjoyable though the comedy was hit and miss for me, I thoroughly found myself engrossed in the charm of each individual actor, so much so, I later realized there was close to no set dressing. I wasn’t familiar with this play by The Father of Comedy, Aristophanes, written a couple years ago in 414 BC.
The adaptation was a reflection of our current state in the political arena, but sadly, it seems these patterns were no different from when the play was first written. The performance of the humans, Lemon and Brenda were sly and deviously entertaining. I admit I didn’t realize they were supposed to be men. Maybe they should change the gender since they’re adapting or cast men. The birds themselves were a colorful musical group of misfits in an already perfect utopia. Corinne was lead hawk with an owl head but hilarious and full of life, hard to take my eyes off her performance. Therese has an adorable attitude with her original music set to James Brown theatrics and music. Marc juggled various personalities with a calm ease and hit those drums for the birds. Safiya was full of Sass as an angel on a scooter and Susan brought us a nice change up with her guitar. Travis has the pipes and quite the beard.
All and all it was entertaining. The political aspect, though the point of the story, felt a little too played out and obvious. But the hour flew by quick and the mix of music some original spiced things nicely.
