Ryan Gowland’s script is tight, funny and chocked full of jokes. Gowland’s energy on stage is fantastic. The cast is a bunch of all stars and I’m sure they’re all mentioned in other reviews but I’d never seen Gowland in full flight. The whole thing is a relentless joke shoot-out with Gowland, Fluet (great) and Larsen (always great) playing familiar roles but within a context that re-crazies (re-crazy-izes?) the whole cops in crisis idea. The premise is rock solid and timely and the jokes often land hard because at the core the ideas here are so dumb when we see them on the news but so funny when explored to their logical conclusion. As funny as this thing is, it hurts to walk back outside and remember how stupid the world really is right now.
Also, Erin Lann is an understated deadpan master.
What I didn't like
Amanda Blake Davis COULD be in every show if people would just get it together. If they did, all shows would be better.
