What I liked
Amir. He’s better than the script. The character is funny and heartbreaking but within the context of this show, I felt like the character and performer was wasted. The supporting cast just wasn’t very strong. Petey had beautiful moments but over all his zaniness was not a good compliment to his mother’s zaniness. It was too much zany.
There wasn’t enough of a time lapse between Petey leaving and coming back for me to be emotionally effected by it at all. What was his journey? Why the sudden and intense change of heart? Fringe is definitely limiting so it’s hard to flush out that story. They wanted an “Awww… he’s back!” but they got a “Oh yeah… he left. Wait, did he?”
The A-Z audience participation game at the end is a clever way for most people to forget their lack luster journey, but not this audience member.
What I didn't like
The script. Obviously it did well in little episodes within the Serial Killers at Sacred Fools formula, but as a full length show it fell flat. There’s potential with the idea.
