What I liked

Amir Levi is a phenomenon. I hope he regularly plays ‘Dame’ ‘Dame’ in English Panto, and if he doesn’t — and hasn’t — it’s a crying shame. Any Panto would be privileged to have him. That voice, that sense of timing, those flagrant gams. Andrew Villareal’s work is also delightful. Although his stage presence is qualitatively different than Amir’s, he can hold his own in the presence of that powerhouse. Everyone else on stage is lots of fun: Demetris Hartman perfectly suits the lovable theater geek, Evie Abat — bizarrely cast as a seriously bizarre shrink — manages to make it all make sense, and Julia Sanborne has a very fun turn as Levi’s long-time nemesis. And they all have the good sense to stand back when Levi’s on stage.

What I didn't like

I’m not going to dig up problems where there really were none.

My overall impression

A big-hearted audience-pleaser. I left the theater with a grin on my face.
