My overall impression
I can’t remember a show at Fringe I’ve had more fun attending. Full disclaimer, I’m a huuuuuge baseball fan so this show had me smiling at parts, audibly cheering, and yes, tearing up. But the beauty of this show is that you don’t have to be a baseball fan to enjoy it (though by the end of it, Brett Moore just might make you one!). “Batter Up” is more about mesmerizing storytelling from the guy next door, the wonder of nostalgia, mixed with some of the most impressive parlor tricks you’ll ever see. Seriously, Brett Moore is a statistical magician! The “games” he plays with the audience are simply something you have to see to believe. But what I truly loved most of all was watching Brett’s passion for the game on full display for his audience. He’s not shy about his love for the national pastime and its infectious. Yes, the tricks are cool, but this show is so much more. Brett Moore is truly the perfect guide to hold our hand as we celebrate the beauty of a national institution, as we think back with love to those moments of “remember when,” and look forward to building new memories with friends and loved ones around the greatest of games. Keep doing this show after Fringe!!! People will come, Brett. People will most definitely come…
