What I liked
Brett’s stories were engaging, the games were hilarious, fun, and astounding, and the facts were real (I think?) I loved the pacing, the background, and the simple stage. I also loved the idea of bringing on audience members to play with. I got cards! It was fun.
What I didn't like
I think at times Brett rushed the opening a bit to get to the actual games, but I really enjoyed the background of it so we got to see why the knowledge was present. A bit more time and connection at the top would have strengthened our bond with the subject.
My overall impression
An obsession turned parlor trick turned variety show, Batter Up! brings the audience into one man’s love and joy for baseball. A fun and exciting night for anyone, whether or not you know anything about the diamond.
