What I liked

I loved that this show wasn’t just a listing of facts, wins, and losses. Moore is aware that there are many-nay-most of us in the audience have nowhere near the knowledge that he does about the game, so he expertly focuses on his entry to the game. By sharing with us his passion, he earns our trust as he weaves in and out of personal anecdotes and games that tests his knowledge of the game. That’s right – a show about (arguably) the greatest sport played on American soil incorporates games to reveal what makes this sport so great: the fans. After watching this show, I wanted to do nothing more than to go catch a ball game with Brett and hear him analyze the game in action.

What I didn't like

Full disclaimer, I am a friend of Brett’s. I have known him for about five years and I can honestly say that I did NOT know that this guy is a natural performer. His nuances and control of the stage elements (shout out to his wife, Erin, for running an incredible show) would have made me think he had been at this for years. Like baseball, I feel like this show would benefit with simply more time given to the overall performance. The games adds a fun and exciting touch, but I could have done with one less game for more of Brett’s experiences with baseball.

My overall impression

Whether you are a die hard fan of one of America’s beloved past times, or someone who grew up watching The Sandlot and that’s all you know about the game, or if you just simply love sitting back and watching someone speak passionately and profoundly about something that has impacted their life…then this show is for you. Moore brings baseball history to life, and don’t worry he’s got you covered on ALL the stats and facts, and he makes it EXCITING! Moore can be described as the Sherlock Holmes of baseball – deducing almost every pivotal (or seemingly unimportant) moment of baseball, all within moments. It’s incredible an incredible to watch one person’s brilliance (or crazed obsession) at work, and with Brett Moore up to bat, you’re sure as hell to have a good time!
