The lead actress (Delia Rawdon) performed very well, especially her dancing with her own unique style, which might be better called performance art. The music was very good, and the lead actress/singer (Mindy Milburn) had a great voice and did well with acting during her singing. The homeless person actor (Scooby) was very engaging and presented a very likeable character that made me feel at home – a tough thing to do while playing a homeless role.
What I didn't like
Overall, a more natural flow to all the acting was needed, to bring it to a point of feeling like the audience would be immersed in the story rather than being separate from it. On the technical side, since there was no sound reinforcement for the vocalists, less volume from the band would have helped to allow the lyrics to be more clearly heard. When the band was not playing, lines were for the most part quite easily understood.
My overall impression
Wonderful show! We see so few musicals with a transgender theme, this was a breath of fresh air!
