What I liked
I really liked how the voice of Moms Mabley came alive and gave me a sense of pride to know her backstory! I grew up with my grandmother and mom loving Moms but had no idea she was able to accomplish so much despite her traumatic past. Very uplifting…
Acting was excellent too! Such a rare presentation to have a one woman show with so much spunk! Such a treat!!
What I didn't like
I thought the timing of the audio could have been better but I know this is a work in progress so know these things will come together
My overall impression
Loved this play!! Such a serious subject matter intertwined with so much imagination and humor. Moms Mabley is definitely an outside-of-the-box subject matter that needs recognition as one of the 1st women of comedy.
