What I liked

Jola, Annalee, and Paul give stirring emotional performances, with great writing underscoring them from Cora. The dress is phenomenal, and the action moves very quickly so that there is never a dull moment. I really felt the desperation from the two actors invading this home to just get a slice of the good life.

What I didn't like

I’m not sure what happened at the end, and I think there’s a bit of a tone difference between the characters. Who is the Siren? How does she work? Open ended endings are fun, but this one confused me as to the message of the play. The characters also feel like they are in different shows at some points in the play, which may come from the Siren’s aloofness and lack of direct interaction.

I also thought the escalation of the guy to pull out a knife and jump to kidnapping was very quick, and would have liked some build up to that. He just went for it.

My overall impression

A smart and tense play that questions the very nature of celebrities and the fame that follows them. When faced with your heroes, how far are you willing to go to be like them?
