What I liked
Again, the casual, sincere storytelling was the focus, and the various elements were beautifully woven. I loved that.
What I didn't like
I wouldn’t change a thing.
My overall impression
Completely swept away by the authenticity, and humanity expressed. Michael is a naturally gifted storyteller, a compelling anti-hero, and the story itself takes center stage, letting any artifice, or ‘performance’ fall away. Birthday is an ode to living on the West Coast, and grappling with life beyond death and destruction. Absolutely heart.
