What I liked

Every actor was riveting to watch. They worked the playwright’s script masterfully, whose words already gave them plenty to work with. What I loved best was that you truly felt like you were dropped in to this pub on a completely arbitrary day and then at its end were simply whisked out, as if your time limit to be a fly on the wall had expired. The play could have continued far beyond its end and/or started far before its beginning and we would have enjoyed every minute of watching these characters’ lives interweave, collide and react.

What I didn't like

I heartily enjoyed the invitation to imagine that the audience was simply the background regulars at this cozy, cramped pub. If this play should go beyond the gates of Fringe and this audience experience is not possible however, I would still say this show is a brilliant on its own and need not lean on that particular part of it, nor mourn its passing because in whatever venue this show finds itself, I’m sure it will find a way to play with its audience in a unique way.

My overall impression

Fantastically well written and acted, compact and cozy in use of space, time and story. It drops you into an unfamiliar world yet within minutes you feel so comfortable with these characters and who they are that a short-hand or a simple gesture conveys just as much information as a long-winded exposition. The beer might’ve helped with that too.
