The intimate staging allows the audience to be transported to an Irish pub and the performances have to be seen to be believed. These aren’t actors. They ARE their characters. This could just as easily be mounted at any professional theatre in the country.
What I didn't like
A fuller production could allow for added atmosphere but what this team does with their space is enviable. We should all do so much with so little. But what the show lacks in space comforts it makes up for in an impressive first script.
My overall impression
A mesmerizing ode to the art of storytelling brought to lucrative life by a playwright immersed in history and a cast at the tops of their collective games. A must see. A phenomenal piece or contemporary theatre.
