What I liked

This was a topical and necessary play, especially given the pervasiveness of homelessness in the city. I was immediately drawn in by the Lily character – her strength, her wisdom, her leadership was apparent from the first line. Jasmine and Dahlia brought depth and humanity to the story.

What I didn't like

Not so much a critique but observation and question: at the beginning of the play, Jasmine appears to be in distress and the audience laughs. I don’t know if it’s intended to make the audience check themselves later for their ridicule of the character? It felt inhumane, but also very real.

My overall impression

This is a tearjerker – so bring your tissues. A story of surviving homelessness is carefully and realistically portrayed on stage by four amazing women who draw you in immediately. It gets real, real fast.
